The Batman 2 Fans Think Mr. Freeze Actor Was Just Revealed

The Batman 2 fans think Gotham may be getting a lot colder. A new casting reveal sparked Mr. Freeze speculation after fans connected several clues surrounding one mysterious role in Matt Reeves’ sequel.

The Batman 2 fans think Sebastian Koch is playing Mr. Freeze

X users suspect Sebastian Koch could portray Mr. Freeze in The Batman Part 2. Matt Reeves confirmed the film’s cast through X posts on May 15, 2026. Reeves wrote, “Locked and loaded for Gotham… Welcome.” during the announcement.

One user replied, “Mr. Freeze ???” shortly after the casting reveal. Another user posted, “PLEASE MATT!!!” beside an animated Mr. Freeze image from Batman: The Animated Series.

Several users connected Koch’s surname to Victor Fries, Mr. Freeze’s civilian identity in DC Comics. One user wrote, “Sebastian Koch. Actor alemán. Sabéis que apellido hay en la mitología de Batman de origen alemán? FRIES”.

Another user shared an animated Mr. Freeze image and wrote, “Thank you Matt!” after Reeves’ announcement. Reeves previously confirmed that The Batman Part 2 would feature a winter setting in Gotham City. Consequently, some users linked Gotham’s snowy environment to previous Mr. Freeze speculation.

However, other users proposed Harvey Bullock as Koch’s potential character in the sequel. One user responded, “Harvey Bullock?” directly beneath Reeves’ post.

Another user wrote, “Harvey Bullock???” immediately after the casting announcement appeared online. A separate user added, “Harvey Bullock? Totally spitballing but hey.” shortly after the reveal circulated across X.

Meanwhile, additional users speculated that Koch could portray Hugo Strange instead. One user posted, “Hugo Strange ?” beside a GIF.

Another user wrote, “Wait!!! This could be Hugo Strange?” beside an image comparison referencing the villain. Sebastian Stan, Scarlett Johansson, and Charles Dance also reportedly joined the cast in rumored Dent family roles.

The Batman Part 2 will release theatrically on October 1, 2027, following several development delays. Reeves has not publicly confirmed Koch’s character. Therefore, online speculation remains unverified despite widespread discussion surrounding the casting announcement.
