The Lovely Bones actor Stanley Tucci, who recently reprised his iconic role in The Devil Wears Prada 2, reflected on his marriage to Felicity Blunt during an interview with Jenna Bush Hager on her podcast Open Book.
Looking back on his previous marriage to social worker Kathryn Spath, who died in 2009, Tucci said, “I wasn’t sure that I would ever remarry. I never thought I would have children again.”
The actor continued while discussing meeting Felicity Blunt: “And when I met her, it just sort of made sense, even though there is this age gap of 21 years. And obviously, I knew her family, or I knew her sister was one of my best friends. And we just hit it off.”
Blunt and Tucci first met during the premiere of The Devil Wears Prada. They later reconnected at Emily Blunt’s wedding to John Krasinski. The pair began dating shortly afterward and married in 2012. They have since welcomed two children together.
“We had a lot in common, even though we had nothing in common,” Tucci said about Felicity. “And it just sort of stuck. But I think she changed my life in the sense that she gave me a sense of security. She gave my children a sense of security. And she’s fun. Like, she’s fun to hang out with.”
The actor continued speaking about his wife: “She’s incredibly positive, which I am not always. I mean, her mind is incredible. Her capacity to take in information, not just from a book, but from the world and process it, and turn it into something else, is just extraordinary. She’s pretty cool.”
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is currently playing in theaters.
