Brendan Fraser Teases The Mummy 4 Transformation With New Update: ‘Wish Me Luck”

Brendan Fraser is officially saddling up for another adventure, but the actor admits he first needs to get his 57-year-old body back into action-hero shape. The beloved star dropped the update on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, confirming that The Mummy 4 is absolutely happening and revealing the physical grit he’s putting into his return as Rick O’Connell.

The Oscar winner spoke of the task ahead, asking viewers directly to “wish me luck” as he attempts to prepare physically for the role he first inhabited in 1999. “I’m doing my best to get this 57-year-old gear in shape,” Fraser said.

Universal Pictures is releasing The Mummy 4 on 19 May 2028. Fraser and Rachel Weisz, who plays Egyptologist Evelyn O’Connell, have both signed deals to reprise their roles. Weisz’s return is notable given she was not in the franchise’s third movie, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, released in 2008.

Brandan Fraser also gave a sneak peek into what fans can expect from The Mummy 4 . “Look, what we’re going to do is saddle back up, go back to the locations,” he said, before adding, “I should probably stop talking like this.”

The actor shared that the most-awaited reunion is happening because of the sustained audience demand. “We’re gonna get the band back together, the only way to do it right,” Fraser explained. “So we’re going to give the audience what they have been bothering all of us for the last 20 whatever years.”

That commitment means the production is going practical, taking the cast back to real locations rather than relying entirely on soundstage trickery. Fallon even referenced a Universal Studios trip designed to get Fraser into character. Fraser quipped, “This is right as the guy goes, don’t wear your hat, it’ll get blown away.”

All in all, The Mummy 4’s plot details remain tightly under wraps, but Fraser’s promise of getting back in shape, location-driven shoots hint that the filmmakers are chasing the dusty, swashbuckling spirit that made the original films global.
