Samara Weaving’s R-Rated Sequel Is Dominating Digital Streaming
One of the latest films of Samara Weaving, an R-rated comedy horror sequel, has just arrived on digital streaming. However, it has already managed to become an instant favorite, surpassing multiple titles, including other recent arrivals. The movie premiered in theaters around two months ago to a generally positive critical reception.

Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, featuring Samara Weaving, hit digital platforms on May 5, 2026. Following its arrival, it secured the #1 position on the Top 10 list of most downloaded movies on iTunes, surpassing titles like Avatar: Fire and Ash, Send Help, Hoppers, and The Drama (via PopVortex).
The film is a sequel to 2019’s Ready or Not. Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett directed it, reprising their roles from the previous installment. Meanwhile, Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy co-wrote the screenplay, having earlier done so for the original.
Weaving reprises her role as Grace. She is joined by Kathryn Newton, who plays her estranged sister, Faith. The supporting cast includes Elijah Wood, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Shawn Hatosy, David Cronenberg, Olivia Cheng, and Varun Saranga, among others.
Picking up from where the previous film left off, the story sees Grace reunite with Faith as they are both hunted down by elite families as part of a high-stakes competition ritual involving a powerful throne.
At the time of its release, Ready or Not 2: Here I Come became a moderate box office success, grossing around $40 million globally. This is lower than the original, which made roughly $57 million.
Meanwhile, the film holds an approval rating of 74%, “certified fresh” and a “verified hot” audience score of 90% on Rotten Tomatoes. The former is much lower than the first‘s critical rating, which is a “certified fresh” 89%. However, the latter is superior to the original’s audience score, which is 78%.
