Beloved Arnold Schwarzenegger Sci-Fi Movie Returns to Theaters This Month

Rialto Pictures and Studiocanal have officially partnered for the upcoming theatrical rerelease of Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s iconic sci-fi action movie Terminator 2: Judgment Day. It served as the second installment of James Cameron‘s popular film franchise. During its 1991 debut, the film was a massive box office success, grossing around $519 million worldwide.

“In this sequel set eleven years after The Terminator, young John Connor, the key to civilization’s victory over a future robot uprising, is the target of the shape-shifting T-1000, a Terminator sent from the future to kill him. Another Terminator, the revamped T-800, has been sent back to protect the boy. As John and his mother go on the run with the T-800, the boy forms an unexpected bond with the robot,” reads the official synopsis.

In honor of its 35th anniversary, Terminator 2: Judgment Day will officially return to select theaters for a limited time, starting from May 22 through July 5. It will also be presented in 4K, 4K 3D, 35mm, and 70mm prints.

Terminator 2: Judgment Day was directed by Cameron, who co-wrote the screenplay with William Wisher. The movie also starred Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor, Edward Furlong as John Connor, and Robert Patrick as T-1000. It currently holds a Certified Fresh score of 90% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 154 reviews.
