One of Adam Sandler‘s fan-favorite movies of all time has officially been added to Peacock‘s expanding library. Despite receiving mixed reviews during its initial theatrical run, the 2004 film still became a commercial success, grossing over $198 million at the box office.
What Adam Sandler movie is now on Peacock today?
Beginning today, Sandler’s iconic romantic comedy movie 50 First Dates is now officially available to stream on Peacock. The movie also starred Golden Globe winner Drew Barrymore as Lucy, a woman who has short-term memory loss. This served as Sandler and Barrymore’s second collaboration, following 1998’s The Wedding Singer. The ensemble cast also included Blake Clark as Marlin, Sean Astin as Doug, Dan Aykroyd as Dr. Joseph Keats, Amy Hill as Sue, Maya Rudolph as Stacy, Rob Schneider as Ula, and more.
“In the film, Henry (Sandler) lives an enviable life in a Hawaiian paradise, spending every night with a beautiful tourist in search of an island fling. It’s a sweet life with no strings attached…until he meets Lucy (Barrymore),” reads the official synopsis. “He and Lucy hit it off from the get-go, but the next day, she acts like she doesn’t know him. Has his karma come around to kick him in the butt or what? Actually, Lucy has short-term memory loss, so every night, all memory of her day is erased. But a man in love will go to any lengths to win over the girl of his dreams, and if that means having to find imaginative ways of doing it over again every day, then Henry’s up for the challenge.”
50 First Dates was directed by Peter Segal, with George Wing writing the screenplay. Producers were Jack Giarraputo, Steve Golin, and Nancy Juvonen. It was executive-produced by Jay Roach, Daniel Lupi, and Michael Ewing. The film currently holds a Popcornmeter score of 65% on Rotten Tomatoes.
