Robert De Niro & Adam Scott’s Netflix Crime Movie Gets Release Date & Photos

Netflix has announced the release date for The Whisper Man, the upcoming crime thriller starring Academy Award winner Robert De Niro and Golden Globe nominee Adam Scott. In addition, the streamer has also shared the first photos from the movie, featuring De Niro and Scott as a father and son investigating the connection between a convicted serial killer and the abduction of Scott’s character’s 8-year-old son.

“When his eight-year-old son is abducted, a widowed crime writer looks to his estranged father, a retired former police detective, for help, only to discover a connection with the decades-old case of a convicted serial killer known as ‘The Whisper Man,'” reads the official synopsis.

When is the release date for Robert De Niro’s The Whisper Man?

The Whisper Man is scheduled to premiere on August 28, 2026, exclusively on Netflix. The movie also stars Michelle Monaghan, Hamish Linklater, Owen Teague, Acston Luca Porto, and Will Brill. It is based on the New York Times bestselling novel by Alex North.

The film is directed by James Ashcroft, with Ben Jacoby and Chase Palmer writing the screenplay. It is produced by Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Angela Russo-Otstot, Michael Disco, and Kassee Whiting, with Marcus Viscidi, Tim Connors, and Alex Leb serving as executive producers. It is a production by AGBO.

This marks De Niro’s latest movie project with the streamer after Martin Scorsese’s acclaimed 2019 gangster movie The Irishman. He also starred in last year’s political thriller miniseries Zero Day for Netflix, serving as his first major TV project as the lead.
