Toxic Release Date Delayed Again for This Major Reason

Toxic was set to launch in theaters this summer, but its release date has since been pushed back. Recently, the film’s lead, Yash, shared a statement addressing the delay and explained the reason. However, he promised that the new date wasn’t far off. Notably, the period gangster movie had been delayed several times before the most recent one.

Yash announces Toxic’s release date delay

Yash, who plays the main character in Toxic, released a statement on X (formerly Twitter). In it, he confirmed that the film’s most recent delay is due to the makers working on the global launch strategy. Before this, it was scheduled for June 4.

“There are films we make, and then there are films that remind us why we fell in love with cinema,” he stated. “Toxic has been one such journey.”

The “Rocking Star” added that presenting the film at CinemaCon, which took place earlier this month, and seeing the global response reaffirmed him and the makers of their long-held belief that it had to “reach its full potential worldwide.”

The KGF star clarified that work on the movie was done. He added that they are “currently aligning global distribution and partnerships.” He reasoned that because of this, they had to move the film’s premiere to “a later, globally aligned date.” However, he promised that the new date wasn’t distant, saying Toxic would “come to theatres across the world soon.”

He continued, saying he viewed the delay as an opportunity to take time and launch the film with the “impact” it deserved. The Kannada star concluded by expressing gratitude to fans. He stated, “We promise to give you a film to enjoy and celebrate – a film that will stand as a proud moment for Indian cinema.”

This delay marks Toxic’s fourth and latest. Originally, reportedly scheduled for April 10, 2025, it was pushed back to March 19. Later, the unstable situation in the Middle East prompted a delay from that date to June 4.

Dubbed versions in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam are planned for Toxic’s release, alongside the original Kannada version. Geetu Mohandas directed it from her and Yash’s screenplay.
