Vanessa Kirby & Lewis Pullman’s New Sci-Fi Movie Gets Title, Plot Details
Avengers: Doomsday stars Lewis Pullman and Vanessa Kirby are set to team up outside of the MCU for a new sci-fi movie.
What do we know about The Spacesuit?
Pullman and Kirby will star as astronauts in The Spacesuit, a new feature film from writer and director Kitty Green. The Australian filmmaker is best known for writing and directing 2019’s The Assistant and 2023’s The Royal Hotel.
According to Variety, “The Spaceship follows an astronaut (Kirby) who is forced to make an impossible decision after an incident with her co-pilot (Pullman) leaves an indelible stain on the mission in the days leading up to lift off, setting off a tense race against the clock.”
The Spaceship has been described as a “timely and provocative new perspective” on space exploration. The sci-fi thriller will reunite Green with producers James Schamus and Scott Macaulay, as well as Joe Pirro, Rita Walsh, and Kath Shelper. Vanessa Kirby and Juliet Kirby will executive produce.
HanWay Films will launch international sales on The Spaceship in Cannes. UTA Independent Film Group and CAA Media Finance will represent North America.
In 2025, Pullman and Kirby made their MCU debuts with Thunderbolts* and The Fantastic Four: First Steps, respectively. Pullman played three characters: Robert “Bob” Reynolds, the powerful Sentry, and the villainous Void. Meanwhile, Kirby portrayed Sue Storm/Invisible Woman.
Pullman and Kirby are set to reprise their roles in Avengers: Doomsday. They were two of the 25-plus actors announced for the upcoming Avengers movie, which will feature the Fantastic Four, Avengers, the New Avengers, Wakandans, and original X-Men joining forces to take on Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr.
Avengers: Doomsday is directed by the Russo Brothers, who also produce alongside Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. The MCU movie opens in theaters on December 18, 2026.
