Brenton Thwaites wants to be in Pirates of the Caribbean 6
As discussions around the future of the Pirates of the Caribbean continue, Brenton Thwaites has expressed a clear desire to be involved in a potential sixth installment.
During an interaction with Collider on a panel at Calgary Expo, the actor said he remains interested despite having no official information about the project. He added that he would be willing to contribute in any role, including working behind the camera. “Yeah, I hope I’m in it. I don’t think I will be, but I’ll work as a grip. I’ll be behind the camera, holding a boom if I could,” Thwaites said when asked about the new film.
Thwaites was last seen as Henry Turner in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, which introduced a new generation of characters into the long-running franchise. Nearly a decade after its release, there has been continued interest from audiences about whether those characters will play a role in future parts. However, no official announcements have been made.
Earlier, franchise producer Jerry Bruckheimer addressed ongoing speculation about the direction of the next Pirates of the Caribbean film and the potential involvement of Johnny Depp.
Speaking to The Direct, Bruckheimer dismissed claims that the upcoming part would move forward without Depp. “First of all, that’s not true,” he said. The actor went on to add, “No, no, no. Johnny… if it’s up to me, he’ll be in it.”
While the direction of the next part remains unclear, Thwaites’ comments highlight his continued attachment to the project.
