A24’s The Moment Gets Streaming Release Date on HBO Max
A24’s mockumentary The Moment is ready to have its streaming moment after wrapping up its theatrical run earlier this year. The Charli xcx-led film has now locked in a date for its debut on a major streaming platform.

A24’s mockumentary The Moment will begin streaming exclusively on HBO Max on Friday, May 29, according to a press release. The movie will also premiere on HBO linear on Saturday, May 30, at 8:00 p.m. ET. The announcement confirms the streaming arrival of the Charli xcx-led film after its theatrical run earlier this year.
The Moment follows a rising pop star and focuses on the challenges they face regarding fame and industry pressure. The character prepares for her arena tour debut while dealing with label demands and creative conflicts. Charli xcx stars as a fictionalized version of herself in the film, which is based on her original idea.
Aidan Zamiri directed the film from a screenplay he co-wrote with Bertie Brandes. Charli xcx and David Hinojosa produced the project, and A24 distributed the film during its theatrical window.
The ensemble cast includes Alexander Skarsgard, Rosanna Arquette, Jamie Demetriou, and Kate Berlant in key roles. Kylie Jenner, Rachel Sennott, Rish Shah, Arielle Dombasle, and Hailey Benton Gates also star. Isaac Powell, Trew Mullen, Mel Ottenberg, and Michael Workéyè round out the cast.
The Moment premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival on January 23, 2026. A24 released it in limited theatrical release on January 30 before expanding wide on February 6. The film also screened in the Panorama section at the 76th Berlin International Film Festival. A. G. Cook, a frequent Charli xcx collaborator, composed the score for the project. HBO Max’s streaming library also features titles from Warner Bros. Pictures, DC Studios, Turner Classic Movies, and Studio Ghibli.
