The Mandalorian & Grogu Gets Never Seen Before Footage

Jon Favreau unveiled new footage from The Mandalorian & Grogu in a recent interview. The short clip shows part of an action sequence and a hilarious interaction between the eponymous protagonists. Launching in theaters next month, the upcoming movie is a continuation of the Disney+ series, The Mandalorian, which ran for three seasons.

New The Mandalorian & Grogu footage revealed

Director Jon Favreau recently sat down for a conversation with Jimmy Kimmel, where he discussed showing new footage from the film at CinemaCon last week.

Later in the episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the host showed viewers a new brief clip from The Mandalorian & Grogu. It begins with Zeb Orrelios shooting at Stormtroopers chasing him and Din Djarin as they have captured a Galactic Empire official, Janu. Djarin tells Grogu to go to the control panel and touch the buttons that the former previously told the latter not to.

The Mandalorian gives Grogu instructions on what buttons to press. Not listening carefully, he touches the wrong ones. Zeb responds, “I don’t think he knows what he’s doing.”

The Mandalorian & Grogu released its final trailer at CinemaCon last week, while also showing off 17 minutes of exclusive footage. The clip showed a tense meeting between a council of Imperials that ends with one of the members killed. This is followed by Djarin taking down several armed soldiers before escaping, along with Grogu, through a snowy mountain on a robotic creature.

The Mandalorian then meets up with New Republic Colonel Ward. She assigns him a mission to find and retrieve a missing commander. He becomes hesitant after learning he had to meet with Rotta the Hutt for this. However, Ward tells him she has nothing else lined up if he doesn’t want the task.

The Mandalorian & Grogu flies into theaters on May 22, 2026. In addition to directing, Jon Favreau wrote the screenplay with Noah Kloor and Dave Filoni.

Pedro Pascal headlines the film, with a supporting cast that includes Sigourney Weaver, Jeremy Allen White, Steve Blum, Jonny Coyne, and Matthew Willig.
