Hippo Horror Movie Hungry Gets Twisted Trailer
Aura Entertainment has shared the official trailer for Hungry, its newest creature feature thriller about a vicious hippo attacking a group of tourists. The survival thriller movie will be available to rent or own on digital platforms starting on June 23, 2026.
“It follows thrill-seeking tourists on a riverboat tour through the treacherous Louisiana swamplands. Lured off the beaten path by the promise of an exclusive adventure, they soon find themselves fighting for survival against a ravenous hippopotamus lurking beneath the bayou’s murky waters,” reads the official synopsis. “Set in a mysterious and dangerous landscape, the film is a tense survival thriller about an impossible battle with one of nature’s deadliest predators.”

What happens in the Hungry trailer?
The video features a group of tourists on a riverboat tour, who were originally meant to see alligators in the wild. However, things turn for the worse when they encounter a much more violent and deadly creature, who is hunting them down for fun. They must work together to find a way to escape the predator before it’s too late. The trailer also highlights some of the movie’s gory and thrilling sequences, showing the hippo’s vicious attacks.
Hungry is written and directed by James Nunn, inspired by the childhood game Hungry Hungry Hippo. The movie stars Madison Davenport (Sharp Objects), Joaquim de Almeida (Road House), Olivia Bernstone (Mood), Tracey Bonner (The Exorcist), Michel Curiel (She-Hulk: Attorney at Law), Sam Coughlan (Arcadian), and River Codack (Heretic). It is executive-produced by Marc Goldberg and Sarah Gabriel, with Ben Jacques serving as a producer.
