Disney’s Premium Infinity Vision Theatrical Experience & Key Details Announced

The Walt Disney Studios and its global theatrical exhibition partners announced a new premium certification program designed to change how audiences find the best big-screen experience. The studio shared full details on the initiative’s technical standards, launch timeline, and its ties to upcoming Marvel releases.

Disney announces Infinity Vision theatrical experience

The Walt Disney Studios announced Infinity Vision, a new certification for premium large format theaters, per a press release. The studio developed the program in collaboration with global theatrical exhibition partners. Infinity Vision certifies auditoriums that meet rigorous technical standards for large screens, laser projection, and premium audio.

Currently, over 75 domestic and 300 global premium large format screens qualify for the certification. In particular, the program aims to help audiences identify theaters offering the best possible cinematic experience. Accordingly, Infinity Vision-certified screens will feature the largest displays, superior brightness, and fully immersive sound formats.

“Disney’s standards for production quality are second to none, with every single detail of a film finely tuned for an immersive experience,” said Andrew Cripps, Head of Theatrical Distribution for The Walt Disney Studios. “Infinity Vision certification extends that commitment to the theaters themselves, representing a shared effort between The Walt Disney Studios and the exhibition community to help audiences quickly find the very best screens in their area to experience our films in exactly the way they’re designed to be seen – on a huge screen with the sharpest, clearest color and sound.”

Notably, Infinity Vision will debut with the September re-release of Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame. Subsequently, the highly anticipated Avengers: Doomsday will follow in December on certified screens. Audiences will find Infinity Vision-certified auditoriums through branding displayed online and inside participating theaters.

Additionally, the initiative extends beyond certification to include special offerings for theaters and marketing support. As a result, participating locations will display Infinity Vision branding to simplify the ticket-purchasing process for consumers.
