The Devil Wears Prada 2 Shows Glorious New Footage With Meryl Streep & More

Disney debuted new The Devil Wears Prada 2 footage during its CinemaCon presentation on Thursday, giving fans their first real look at Miranda Priestly’s return to the Runway offices. Anne Hathaway appeared virtually to introduce the clips and reflect on the original film’s two-decade cultural footprint.

The exclusive The Devil Wears Prada 2 footage opens with Meryl Streep‘s Miranda Priestly at an editorial meeting. She wastes no time eviscerating staff pitches with her trademark disdain. At one point, she sighs, “May my suicide be brief and painless.” Simone Ashley sits beside her as a new addition, visibly working to keep Miranda’s commentary from crossing today’s boundaries (via The Hollywood Reporter).

A montage follows the meeting scene. Quick cuts reveal high-fashion moments and a shot of Hathaway and Emily Blunt’s characters aboard a boat, seemingly in Italy. Streep, Hathaway, Blunt, and Stanley Tucci all return for the sequel. New cast members include Kenneth Branagh, Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, and Ashley. David Frankel directs from a script by Aline Brosh McKenna.

The story pits Miranda against Blunt’s character Emily, now a rival luxury brand executive. They battle for advertising dollars as print media declines and Miranda eyes retirement. Hathaway’s Andy Sachs works again at Runway as an editor. Production happened in New York and Milan for a couple of months in 2025. Crowds swarmed the set constantly.

Blunt told Vogue, “All of this attention and obsession with the quick consumption of this movie before it’s even out … in many ways is emblematic of how our industry and our lives have changed.” Streep added, “It felt jubilant, when I first got out on Sixth Avenue—where we filmed 20 years ago and nobody was interested. I got changed, got out of my camper, and just heard this roar!”

The Devil Wears Prada 2 hits theaters May 1, 2026.
