What was shown in the Heart of the Beast trailer at CinemaCon?
The first trailer for Heart of the Beast was shown to those attending Paramount Pictures’ CinemaCon panel earlier today. The footage hasn’t been released online; however, several descriptions of the trailer have since emerged.
Variety writes, “Pitt stars in the upcoming film as a former Army Special Forces soldier who has gone off the grid, but must return to civilization after his small plane crashes deep in the Alaskan wilderness. Pitt looks like he gives a haunted performance as a man struggling with PTSD, but the true standout may be the retired service dog who protects him from bears, wolves, and other beasts…In Heart of the Beast, [Pitt’s- character and the dog have to climb over dizzying mountain peaks and ford raging rivers in a desperate attempt to stay alive.”
Ayer and Pitt previously worked with one another on 2014’s Fury, a World War II movie released by Sony Pictures that also stars Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Michael Peña, and Jon Bernthal.
Ayer began his career in Hollywood as a writer, as he worked on the scripts for projects such as 2001’s Training Day, 2001’s The Fast and the Furious, 2003’s S.W.A.T., and more. He made his feature film directorial debut in 2005 with Harsh Times, which was then followed by 2008’s Street Kings, 2012’s End of Watch, and 2014’s Sabotage.
After Fury, Ayer went on to make the 2016 DCEU Suicide Squad movie, 2017’s Bright, 2020’s The Tax Collector, 2024’s The Beekeeper, and, most recently, 2025’s A Working Man.
