Taylor Sheridan’s Call of Duty Movie Sets Release Date
Paramount’s live-action Call of Duty movie just set a release date.
Also known as CoD, Call of Duty is a first-person shooter military video game series and one of the biggest video game franchises of all time. It was announced last year that the Activision game is receiving a live-action adaptation from Paramount Pictures.
When is the Call of Duty movie release date?
Paramount and Activision announced that the still-untitled Call of Duty movie is scheduled for release on June 30, 2028. Peter Berg, the filmmaker behind acclaimed action features like Lone Survivor, Deepwater Horizon, and Patriots Day, will direct the project.
Berg is also the writer behind the project, co-writing alongside Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan. In addition, both serve as producers of the project, alongside David Glasser and Rob Kostich. The two of them previously worked together on projects like Hell or High Water (2016) and Wind River (2017). both helmed by Sheridan and produced by Berg.
Other known films directed by Berg include Friday Night Lights, Hancock, Mile 22, and Spenser Confidential. Besides creating Yellowstone and several of its spin-offs, Sheridan is also one of the writers behind movies like Sicario, Without Remorse, and Those Who Wish Me Dead.
There have been rumors about a planned Call of Duty movie for years, but it wasn’t until 2025 that it was announced that the project was actually happening, with Paramount and Activision developing and producing it. Paramount is set to distribute.
The popular video game series first came out in 2003, originally focused on a World War II setting. Since then, the game has spawned over 20 spin-offs, with the most recent being Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, released in November of 2025.
The plot details for the upcoming Call of Duty movie are still being kept close to the vest.
