Mortal Kombat 2 is drawing attention ahead of its release with the reveal of a themed popcorn bucket inspired by Shao Kahn. Mortal Kombat 2 popcorn bucket and merch revealed

Popcorn buckets and merch items for Mortal Kombat 2 have been unveiled ahead of the film’s theatrical release, with the designs drawing heavily from key characters and signature elements from the franchise. The items are set to roll out across major theater chains as the film approaches its release.

One of the most prominent pieces in the collection is a helmet-shaped popcorn bucket based on Shao Kahn. Designed after the villain’s skeletal samurai mask, the bucket reflects his role as the Emperor of Outworld and a central antagonist in the film. The character will be portrayed by Martyn Ford, and the item has already been confirmed for sale at AMC, Cinemark, and Regal theaters.

The lineup also includes an arcade-inspired “Test Your Might” tin, styled after a classic machine and finished in the franchise’s green and black color palette. The piece draws directly from Mortal Kombat’s gaming roots and will be available at AMC and Cinemark locations.

The lineup also includes a clapperboard-style popcorn bucket inspired by Johnny Cage, portrayed by Karl Urban. The clapper is inscribed with “To my biggest fan, Cage,” opens from the top to hold popcorn, and is designed to carry an XL serving. It will be sold exclusively at Cinemark, where it will also be offered as part of a souvenir combo that includes a 44-ounce drink.

In addition, a dragon-wrapped Grippr cup that lights up in emerald green has been introduced, featuring imagery of Johnny Cage and Kitana, played by Adeline Rudolph. A green-tinted popcorn bucket marked with the black dragon logo will also be available through Cinemark and Regal.

Mortal Kombat 2 is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 8, 2026.
