Forgotten Marvel Actor Fuels Return Speculation After New Defenders Photos
A comment shared under Mike Colter’s recent Instagram post has sparked rumors about the potential return of a nearly-forgotten Marvel superhero. This character made appearances in Netflix shows Iron Fist, The Defenders, and Luke Cage. Notably, Colter posted a photo with Finn Jones and Krysten Ritter, effectively confirming the return of the trio in Daredevil: Born Again Season 3.
Jessica Henwick comments on Mike Colter’s new photos
Jessica Henwick, who has played Colleen Wing in Netflix’s Marvel shows, replied to Colter’s post with a face with tears of joy emoji and a yellow heart emoji, leading to speculation that she might also be part of the third season of Daredevil: Born Again. These speculations only intensified when Colter responded to Henwick’s reply with the eyes emoji.
Industry scooper @MyTimeToShineH shared a screenshot of the exchange between Colter and Henwick with eyes and screaming emojis in the caption.
Elsewhere, @jama_thegoattt wrote, “She’s back for sure.” If these speculations are true, it means the end of Henwick’s five-year weight. Back in 2021, the Silo actress told The Hollywood Reporter that she decided to exit the audition process for the role of Xu Xialing in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings partly in hopes of getting to play Colleen again. Meng’er Zhang eventually portrayed Xu Xialing.
“If I did [Shang-Chi], I would effectively be putting Colleen to bed. It wasn’t the main factor, but it definitely came up in conversation,” Henwick said at the time. “I love Colleen. She changed my life. Of course, if I was given the opportunity to revisit her, I would, but I just don’t know how likely that is. Charlie [Cox] knew about that opportunity years ago. He already knew it was happening. I think I would have heard by now if there were any plans with Colleen.”
At the time of this article’s composition, neither Marvel nor Henwick has confirmed her return. Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is currently airing on Disney+.
