Angel Studios Unveils Entire 2026 Slate With 8 Movie Release Dates

Angel Studios pulled back the curtain on its most ambitious year yet at CinemaCon’s mainstage presentation. The studio revealed its complete 2026 theatrical slate, announcing eight films spanning action thrillers, war epics, westerns, musicals, and biographical dramas packed with A-list talent.

Angel Studios’ 2026 slate of movies gets new updates

Angel Studios announced its complete 2026 theatrical slate at its CinemaCon mainstage presentation on April 13. The studio plans to release 10 films in theaters this year across multiple genres.

Animal Farm

Directed by Andy Serkis, Animal Farm arrives in theaters on May 1. The voice cast includes Seth Rogen, Woody Harrelson, Glenn Close, Jim Parsons, Kieran Culkin, and Steve Buscemi. The film adapts George Orwell’s satirical allegory about revolution and corrupted power.

Young Washington

Young Washington opens on July 3, timed to America’s 250th anniversary. The film stars Kelsey Grammer, Mary-Louise Parker, Ben Kingsley, and William Franklyn-Miller as young George Washington. Angel debuted the trailer during its CinemaCon presentation.

The Brink of War

Jeff Daniels stars as President Reagan alongside Jared Harris and J.K. Simmons in this August 14 release. The Cold War drama depicts the high-stakes Reykjavik Summit between Reagan and Gorbachev.

Runner

Owen Wilson and Alan Ritchson lead this action thriller from director Scott Waugh, hitting theaters September 11. The film follows a former soldier protecting a medical delivery from a ruthless cartel.

Angel and the Badman

Tommy Lee Jones and Zachary Levi star in this October release reimagining the John Wayne classic western. Julio Quintana directs the story of an outlaw offered a chance at redemption.

Drummer Boy

This November 6 Christmas musical from the Smallbone brothers follows two siblings on opposite sides of the Revolutionary War.

Hershey

Finn Wittrock and Alexandra Daddario star in this Thanksgiving release about Milton Hershey’s chocolate empire. Mark Waters directs the biographical drama.

Zero A.D.

Sam Worthington and Jim Caviezel star in director Alejandro Monteverde’s biblical epic, arriving Christmas 2026. CEO Neal Harmon called the slate proof that “Angel has gone from aspiring to achieving.”
