Ruby Rose Accuses Katy Perry of Sexual Assault: ‘Just Left the Police Station’

Model and actress Ruby Rose has accused Katy Perry of sexually assaulting her.

On Threads, Rose revealed the incident in a reply to a post from Complex Music, about Perry‘s reaction to Justin Bieber’s set at Coachella. In subsequent replies, Rose opened up about the incident, which she says occurred 20 years ago, when Rose was in her 20s. According to the actress, Rose and Perry were both at an Australian nightclub, Spice Market, in Melbourne.

What did Ruby Rose say about Katy Perry?

Rose notes that, while resting on a friend’s lap, Perry came over and pulled down her underwear, sticking her crotch into Rose’s face. Rose notes she eventually noticed and inadvertently threw up on Perry. “She didn’t kiss me. She saw me ‘resting’ on my best friends lap to avoid her and bent down, pulled her underwear to the side and rubbed her disgusting vagina on my face until my eyes snapped open and I projectile vomited on her,” wrote Rose.

Rose went on to say that she had told this story before, but changed some of what happened and described it as a “funny little drunk story” because she “didn’t know how to handle it.” “Later she agreed to help me get my US visa. So I kept it a secret. But I DID tell yall she wasn’t a good person,” Rose said in a separate reply to someone commenting on the matter.

“I was only in my early 20s,” Rose wrote. “I’m now 40. It has taken almost 2 decades to say this publicly. Though I am so grateful to have made it long enough to find my voice, it just shows how much of an impact trauma and sexual assault takes. Thank you for seeing me.”

At the time of her posting, Rose noted that she was “not interested in filing a report” on the matter, but noted that Perry was “welcome” to sue her, but wouldn’t, because so many people had seen the incident happen and Rose alleges that she has photos of the event. However, later in the day, Rose revealed that she had actually “just left the police station” to file a report, and mentioned she would be detailing her experience with the reporting.

“Once I get my strength back, I will write about the process of reporting. Both crimes that occurred when you were a child, and those that occurred as an adult (at least in Australia),” wrote Rose. “But for now I will just say that I was surprised to find the reporting process to be ok, it was when the officer would leave the room that my body would collapse into a ball. It was like having narcolepsy. I did not want to burden anyone by taking them with me but I highly recommend others do.”

In a statement to Variety, Perry’s representatives claim the incident is not only false, but cited Rose’s history of social media as evidence as to why it didn’t happen. “The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous reckless lies. Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named.”
