Little House on the Prairie Teaser Trailer Previews Netflix Reboot of Classic TV Show

Netflix has finally shared the teaser trailer for Little House on the Prairie, its upcoming reboot of NBC’s classic 1970s Western drama show. The 8-episode series is scheduled to start streaming on July 9, 2026.

“Part hopeful family drama, part epic survival tale, and part origin story of the American West, this fresh adaptation of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s iconic semi-autobiographical Little House books offers a kaleidoscopic view of the struggles and triumphs of those who shaped the frontier,” reads the official logline.

What happens in the Little House on the Prairie teaser trailer?

The video highlights a family of four’s journey as they leave Wisconsin to start a new life in the Kansas prairie. It teases the challenges they’ll face at their new home, along with the new people they’ll meet along the way. The trailer also offers a glimpse at the family’s strong bond and wholesome dynamic. The ensemble cast includes Alice Halsey (Lessons in Chemistry) as the strong-willed Laura Ingalls, Skywalker Hughes (I, Object) as Laura’s older sister Mary, Luke Bracey (Hacksaw Ridge) as Charles Ingalls, and Crosby Fitzgerald (Crime 101) as Caroline Ingalls.

Little House on the Prairie is executive-produced by showrunner Rebecca Sonnenshine, whose love for the original book series inspired her to become a writer and a filmmaker. Joy Gorman Wettels, Dana Fox, Susanna Fogel, and Trip Friendly are also serving as executive producers. Additional cast includes Jocko Sims (New Amsterdam), Warren Christie (The Watchful Eye), Wren Zhawenim Gotts (Echo), Meegwun Fairbrother (Avatar, The Sticky), Alyssa Wapanatâhk (Peter Pan & Wendy), Xander Cole (People of the West), and more.
