Dragon Ball Movie With 95% RT Score Hits Hulu Today

One of 2022’s popular anime fantasy movies from Toei Animation has finally found a new streaming home. Beginning today, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is now officially available to stream on Hulu.

What do we know about Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero?

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero was directed by Tetsuro Kodama. Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama wrote the screenplay before his untimely passing in 2024 at the age of 68. This served as the 21st animated feature in the iconic franchise. The voice cast included Masako Nozawa as Gohan/ Goku/ Goten, Toshio Furukawa as Piccolo, Ryō Horikawa as Vegeta, Takeshi Kusao as Future Trunks, Kappei Yamaguchi as Fu, Mayumi Tanaka as Kuririn/ Yajirobe, and more.

“The Red Ribbon Army was once destroyed by Son Goku. Individuals who carry on its spirit have created the ultimate Androids, Gamma 1 and Gamma 2,” reads the official synopsis. “These two Androids call themselves ‘Super Heroes.’ They start attacking Piccolo and Gohan… What is the New Red Ribbon Army’s objective? In the face of approaching danger, it is time to awaken, Super Hero!”

Toei Animation handled the film’s production and distribution. The film was produced by Norihiro Hayashida, with Issa Currie, Emma Moore, and Josh Tyler serving as editors. Composer Naoki Satô also provided its music. During its theatrical run, the 2022 movie grossed around $97-$102 million at the box office. It is currently the highest-rated installment of the long-running animated franchise, with an approval rating of 95% on Rotten Tomatoes. It was also a major hit among moviegoers, receiving a 96% Popcornmeter score.
