The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping Trailer Stars Mckenna Grace & Elle Fanning
Lionsgate has released the official The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping trailer and poster for the star-studded upcoming movie. It also reconfirms that the film will be released in theaters on November 20, 2026.
“The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping revisits the world of Panem 24 years before the events of The Hunger Games, starting on the morning of the reaping of the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell,” says the official synopsis.

Who is in The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping trailer?
Joseph Zada stars in The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping as Haymitch Abernathy, a role originally played by Woody Harrelson in the first four Hunger Games movies. In Sunrise on the Reaping, Haymitch is 16 years old on the morning of the reaping. It also includes Mckenna Grace as Maysilee Donner, Whitney Peak as Lenore Dove Baird, Jesse Plemons as Plutarch Heavensbee, Kelvin Harrison Jr. as Beetee Latier, Maya Hawke as Wiress, Ben Wang as Wyatt Callow, Elle Fanning as Effie Trinket, Kieran Culkin as Caesar Flickerman, Lili Taylor as Mags Flanagan, Billy Porter as Magno Stift, Glenn Close as Drusilla Sickle, and Ralph Fiennes as President Coriolanus Snow.
Francis Lawrence directs Sunrise on the Reaping from a screenplay by Billy Ray, based on the novel by Suzanne Collins. Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson are producers. Cameron MacConomy will executive produce.
Sunrise on the Reaping is the sixth movie in the Hunger Games franchise and the second prequel. The first four movies followed Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss Everdeen as she takes on the Capitol. 2023’s The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes is a prequel to The Hunger Games and follows a young Coriolanus Snow during the 10th Hunger Games.
