Keanu Reeves’ Critically Panned Movie Is a Streaming Hit 

Despite a largely negative response, Keanu Reeves‘ latest movie has found unexpected success on streaming. The Jonah-Hill directed film has gained strong traction among viewers. 

Outcome leads streaming movies on Apple TV

Outcome has emerged as a strong performer on streaming, securing the top position on Apple TV across multiple regions. 

According to FlixPatrol, the film held the top spot in the United States from April 10 to April 12, 2026. It has also performed strongly in several international markets, including Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, New Zealand, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. The strong viewership comes even as the film continues to receive largely unfavorable reviews.

Directed by Jonah Hill, the film centers on Reef Hawk, a prominent Hollywood actor, portrayed by Keanu Reeves, whose reputation comes under threat when he is targeted with a compromising video from his past. As the situation escalates, he begins a search to identify the source of the threat while attempting to repair strained relationships.

To navigate the crisis, Reef leans on those within his inner circle, including his close friends and his lawyer Ira, while attempting to address past actions. Alongside Reeves, the cast includes Jonah Hill as Ira Slitz, Cameron Diaz as Kyle, Matt Bomer as Xander, David Spade as Buddy, and Laverne Cox as Virginia Allen Green among others. 

Despite its strong streaming performance, the film has struggled to win over critics and audiences. On Rotten Tomatoes, it holds a critics’ score of 27 percent based on 37 reviews. Meanwhile, the audience rating stands at 32 percent. 

Nate Richard of Collider reported, “Outcome is a fascinating mess that rides the line between sincerity and crassness.” He concluded, “ It doesn’t come across as too bitter or full of self-pity, but the point of the movie is never made fully clear. It moves at too quick a pace to leave much of an impact, and it’s a bit of a tonal nightmare.”
