In an interview with Vogue, Robert Pattinson went back to Twilight and noticed something new that stayed with him. He hadn’t seen it before, which is kind of surprising for him after all these years.
While watching a cafeteria scene again, he suddenly caught it. A tiny moment where he saw himself using his fingers in a very specific way while sitting down, and it just stood out. The actor said, “There was one thing I did see the other day, which is quite funny, where I’m sitting down in the cafeteria the first time, and I’ve literally never noticed this, and I, for some reason, I go like this on the table to sit.”
He then explained what he was thinking at the time and why he made that choice. He said, “I thought it was an elegant, vampiric thing to do. I think that was what the thought process was. But looking at it 20 years later, you’re like, ‘Huh, it’s very strange.'”
He also reflected on the film’s tone and how seriously everyone approached it. “I really love that movie. I think I would have done it exactly the same — to be honest, I don’t even think I’d be able to do the performance now.”
He added, “Everybody was approaching it so earnestly and took it really, really, really seriously. There was no kind of tongue-in-cheek element. No one’s winking at the audience. It’s like it’s very real, which is strange for a movie about a vampire romance.”
Pattinson rose to global fame with Twilight, where he starred alongside Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan and Taylor Lautner as Jacob Black. The story follows a love triangle. Bella is human, Edward is a vampire, and Jacob Black is a werewolf. The franchise ran from 2008 to 2012, and it ended up featuring five films in total.
