Superman: DC Announces Unique Defenders Unite Project, First Details Here

The world of James Gunn’s Superman movie is expanding with a unique Defenders Unite walkthrough experience.

DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures’ Superman was released in United States theaters in 2025. Written and directed by Gunn, the DCU film stars David Corenswet as the titular superhero, while Nicholas Hoult and Rachel Brosnahan portray Lex Luthor and Lois Lane. A follow-up movie, titled Man of Tomorrow, is now in development and scheduled to be released in 2027.

What is Superman Experience: Defenders Unite?

DC Studios and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences have now announced Superman Experience: Defenders Unite. The project is a walkthrough experience and live gameplay attraction that will launch on April 18, 2026 — which also happens to be Superman Day — at Stage 5 on the Warner Bros. Studios lot.

A press release for Superman Experience: Defenders Unite explains, “Superman Experience features an original storyline, created and exclusively for the attraction, which brings guests into a world inspired by James Gunn’s 2025 blockbuster film Superman. Inside the Fortress of Solitude, guests are recruited by Superman himself and receive Kryptonian abilities to utilize in a critical mission. Through immersive technology, guests will simulate taking to the skies alongside Superman and visit various locations – including a training session on the Kent Farm with Krypto the Superdog – before joining Superman in an epic battle against DC Super-Villain, Darkseid. Earth’s fate hangs in balance, and only you and your team of newly empowered superheroes can help Superman save humanity.”

Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood’s Danny Kahn said in a statement, “Superman Experience offers guests a unique experience to step into the world of DC’s storytelling in an incredibly fun and immersive way. This new attraction unites Global Experiences, Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood, and DC Studios, so fans can create memories while celebrating the world’s greatest Super Hero.”

There will also be a new comic, Superman: Defenders Unite, written by Josh Trujillo and featuring cover art by Bernard Chang, available to purchase on-site. The Superman Experience is a separate ticketed attraction from Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood, while it’s also sold as an “add-on” to the studio tour.
