Lou Diamond Phillips’ Yellowstone-Like Movie Casa Grande Gets Trailer, Exclusive Images
ComingSoon is debuting exclusive images for the Lou Diamond Phillips movie Casa Grande, which has been described as a “Hispanic-influenced Yellowstone.” The film focuses on a daughter rejoining her family farm during a difficult time. Casa Grande is set to officially release in theaters on May 1, 2026.
“A prodigal daughter rejoins her family at their farm during a difficult time, as her ailing father faces both a terminal diagnosis and mounting pressure from competitors. Old wounds resurface as they grapple with what lies ahead,” reads the film’s official synopsis.
The movie is a stand-alone film, but is based on and a continuation of the series of the same name on Prime Video.

What happens in the Casa Grande trailer?
The trailer highlights the story of a daughter who returns to her family’s farm after an incident in which she killed a police officer. As she does, she runs into an issue where her family’s farm is looking to be bought out from under them.
Casa Grande is directed by Juan Pablo Arias Munoz and co-written by Munoz, Lauren Swickard, Sherell Jackson, and Alex Ranarivelo. Alongside Phillips, Casa Grande also stars John Pyper-Ferguson, Madison Lawlor, Christina Moore, Javier Bolaños, Kate Mansi, Lauren Swickard, Daniel Edward Mora, Loren Escandon, Bruce Davison, Shalim Ortiz, and Charley Debenedetti.
Phillips, who is best known for his roles in movies like La Bamba, Stand and Deliver, and his work on Broadway, will appear in his first feature film since 2024. Prior to that, he had appeared in 2024’s Werewolves, Get Fast, and Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths. He also has a recurring role in the HBO series The Chair Company.
