Sam Rockwell’s Psychological Thriller Adds Ant-Man Star & More To Cast

Sam Rockwell‘s upcoming psychological thriller movie has expanded its cast, adding an Ant-Man star and several others to the fold. It was announced last year ahead of AFM and wrapped production. However, it currently has no official release date. Notably, Rockwell recently appeared in Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die, directed by Gore Verbinski.

Michael Peña, Esai Morales and two others join Sam Rockwell’s Tumor cast

Tumor has added Ant-Man actor Michael Peña, Esai Morales, Chris Messina, and Gigi Zumbado to its cast. They join previously announced cast members, Sam Rockwell and Maisy Stella (via Deadline). Will Bridges, whose latest directorial effort is the Brett Goldstein and Imogen Poots sci-fi romance drama, All of You, helmed the film.

The story is based on Joshua Hale Fialkov and Noel Tuazon’s graphic novel of the same name. It revolves around a low-level private investigator in Los Angeles, played by Rockwell. He dives into the world of the young, privileged elite to find the missing daughter of a wealthy businessman. However, his late-stage brain tumor, affecting his hold on reality, hampers his investigation and causes old memories to blur his present, resulting in dark secrets from his past coming to light.

Stella portrays the missing daughter while Morales essays the businessman. Details about Peña, Messina, and Zumbado-led characters haven’t been disclosed.

Active in the film and television industry since 1996, Peña has starred in films such as Crash, The Martian, and A Million Miles Away, as well as in TV shows such as Narcos: Mexico and Jack Ryan Season 4.

Meanwhile, Morales, who has been acting since the 1980s, has credits across multiple films and TV shows. These include Bad Boys, La Bamba, NYPD Blue, Caprica, Titans, Ozark, and Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning: Part One. He most recently appeared in Netflix’s War Machine, starring Alan Ritchson.

Elsewhere, Messina gained recognition for his role as Danny Castellano in The Mindy Project. He is also notable for his roles as Ted Fairwell in HBO’s Six Feet Under, Chris Sanchez in Audience Network’s Damages, and Nathan Bartlett in Based on a True Story. Meanwhile, his film credits include Julie & Julia, Cake, Air, and Birds of Prey.

Zumbado has also built a steady career, including roles in movies and TV shows such as Heart Eyes, Idiotka, Bride Hard, Bridge and Tunnel, The Rookie, and The Lincoln Lawyer.
