Steven Spielberg & Peter Jackson’s Underrated Movie Gets Exciting Sequel Update
Lord of the Rings star Andy Serkis has finally shared an exciting new update about the planned sequel to The Adventures of Tintin. Serkis voiced the characters of Captain Archibald Haddock and Sir Francis Haddock in Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson‘s acclaimed 2011 movie.

Speaking with Collider, Serkis offered a positive update regarding the future of The Adventures of Tintin 2, assuring waiting fans of the acclaimed animated movie that director and producer Peter Jackson still “really wants to make” the sequel. The project has been in development since 2011, with Jackson set to helm the next installment.
“Oh gosh, I wish! I really hope so. I love that Tintin film,” said Serkis. “I loved the process of making that film with such great filmmakers. I think Peter really, really wants to make it, so hopefully down the line.”
The 2011 animated movie was directed by Spielberg, with Steven Moffat, Edgar Wright, and Joe Cornish writing the screenplay. It was based on Hergé’s comic book series of the same name. The New Zealand filmmaker and Spielberg initially planned to release the sequel in 2015, with the latter previously confirming that the new adaptation would be based on two Tintin books.
The Adventures of Tintin also starred Jamie Bell, Serkis, Daniel Craig, Nick Frost, Toby Jones, Daniel Mays, Mackenzie Crook, Gad Elmaleh, Tony Curran, Cary Elwes, and more. The story centered around the hunt for the Unicorn ship’s long-lost treasure. It bagged many awards, including a Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature, making it the first motion-captured animated film to win the award. Since its debut, it has maintained its Certified Fresh score of 75% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 233 reviews.
