Dhurandhar: The Revenge sets a new record at North American box office
According to Variety, Dhurandhar: The Revenge has achieved a major milestone in North America, emerging as the highest-grossing Hindi-language film in the region. The film has crossed the $23 million mark, moving ahead of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, which previously held the record with $20.2 million.
The strong performance was driven by an impressive opening. The film earned $10 million over its first weekend from 987 locations and reached $14 million across its extended five-day launch period. This places it among the biggest debuts for an Indian film in the territory.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the sequel has also recorded substantial earnings worldwide. Within 11 days of release, it has collected approximately $147.8 million globally, with a significant contribution of about $110.7 million coming from the domestic market in India.
Across international territories, the film has performed strongly, climbing to the top position for an Indian release in most regions. The United Kingdom remains an exception, where the film has earned about $4.4 million and currently ranks behind Pathaan. The film continues to hold a wide theatrical presence, with most theaters continuing to show it into its second week.
The scale of the release has also played a key role in its performance. The film opened across approximately 2,200 cinemas and 3,000 screens outside India, excluding Gulf territories. It also expanded into several non-traditional markets, such as Bulgaria, Romania, and Chile, widening its international release.
The project is led by Ranveer Singh, with supporting performances from R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, and Sara Arjun.
