Elizabeth Olsen’s Avengers: Secret Wars Update Won’t Make Wanda Fans Happy

Elizabeth Olsen recently shared a disappointing update for fans who are hoping to see Wanda Maximoff return in Avengers: Secret Wars. Addressing ongoing speculation, Olsen revealed that she currently has no information about the project or her involvement. Her comments have left the character’s future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe uncertain.

Elizabeth Olsen knows ‘nothing’ about Avengers: Doomsday or Secret Wars

Elizabeth Olsen has said she is not aware of any plans involving her character in Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars, pushing back on continued speculation about her return as Wanda Maximoff. Speaking at a recent fan convention, the actor stated, “I know nothing. I know nothing about any of it.”

Olsen further noted that she has not received updates about Vision Quest. While she mentioned having seen Paul Bettany recently, she emphasized that she has no concrete knowledge about future projects. “Is [Secret Wars] what happens after? I’m not kidding. Why did I think there were two Secret Wars? Are there not?” she added.

Despite this, Olsen signaled that she remains open to returning under the right creative conditions. She explained that she has “offered up things [she’d] like to do” and wants “to be of service to a story,” highlighting her preference for roles that prioritize character development. She also noted that her experience with Marvel has consistently been “character-driven.”

Olsen first appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a post-credits scene in Captain America: The Winter Soldier before becoming a central figure across multiple films. Her role expanded even further with the series WandaVision, which explored Wanda’s transformation into the Scarlet Witch. She last appeared in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, in which the character took a darker turn.

While she did not confirm any specific plans, Olsen has pointed to the House of M storyline as one she finds especially interesting. As reported by ScreenRant, she has also expressed interest in working again with Aubrey Plaza, who appeared in Agatha All Along.
