Beloved Tom Cruise Movie Returning to Theaters for 30th Anniversary

TriStar Pictures has announced the theatrical rerelease date for Jerry Maguire, the classic sports comedy-drama movie, starring Golden Globe winner Tom Cruise as a sports agent. For his leading performance, Cruise received his second Best Actor nomination at the Academy Awards.

When is the rerelease date for Tom Cruise’s Jerry Maguire movie?

In celebration of its 30th anniversary, Jerry Maguire is finally returning to theaters on April 12, April 14, and April 15. The star-studded cast also featured Cuba Gooding Jr., Renée Zellweger, Kelly Preston, Jerry O’Connell, Jay Mohr, Bonnie Hunt, Regina King, Jonathan Lipnicki, Donal Logue, and more. Since its debut, the 1996 film has maintained its Certified Fresh rating of 84% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 89 reviews.

“The film follows a successful sports agent who is fired from a high-powered agency when he develops an honorable streak. To his dismay, he finds he has also lost most of his clients and his fiancée, publicist Avery Bishop,” reads the official synopsis. “With only the least important client on his once-full roster, undersized wide receiver Rod Tidwell, and the one person from his ex-firm who believes in him, wistful single mother Dorothy Boyd, Jerry must start over and rebuild his life from the ground up.”

The movie was written and directed by Cameron Crowe. The story was inspired by sports agent Leigh Steinberg and former football player Tim McDonald’s experience during the 1993 NFL season. Steinberg served as a technical consultant on the film, while McDonald made a cameo appearance. Producers were Crowe, James L. Brooks, Richard Sakai, and Laurence Mark, with Janusz Kaminski set as the director of photography.
