The Exorcist Set Photos Tease Intense Scarlett Johansson Action Scene
A new batch of behind-the-scenes photos from the New York City set of Mike Flanagan’s The Exorcist reboot have arrived online, featuring a closer look at Scarlett Johansson‘s character. The supernatural horror movie is scheduled to arrive in theaters on March 12, 2027.
What do The Exorcist set photos show?
Shared on X, the new set photos show Johansson filming a night sequence. She can be seen running while holding a gun, suggesting that her character might be chasing a bad guy. In two of the photos, the Academy Award nominee is also joined by her young co-star Jacobi Jupe, who’s best known for his recent performance in 2025’s Hamnet.
The Exorcist is being directed by Mike Flanagan, who also wrote the screenplay. In addition, Flanagan is also set to edit the film. It serves as the seventh installment in the overall horror franchise, which began with William Friedkin’s classic Linda Blair-led movie. The upcoming reboot’s story won’t be connected to the previous installments, but it’s expected to take place in the same universe. Further details about the story are still being kept under wraps.
