Star Wars Star Thinks Fan Opinion for Sequels Will Change in ‘10 Years’
The Star Wars sequel trilogy may have been the most divisive entries in the long-running sci-fi film series, but one franchise star believes they’ll receive their recognition in due time. Brian Herring, who puppeteered the BB-8 droid to life in Episodes VII-IX, has claimed that the response to the latest batch of Star Wars movies has been similar to that of the prequel trilogy upon its release. As such, Herring believes that fans will come around to the sequels in around a decade.
Brian Herring had this to say about Star Wars sequel trilogy
In a recent interview with Game Reactor, Brian Herring shared his stance on the mixed reception that Star Wars Episodes VII-IX have garnered since their premiere.
“I think the sequels are no more polarising than the prequels were when they came out,” the Star Wars star noted. “All the people who are upset about the sequels are too young to remember how upset the people when the original ones came out were, except they now have the internet. If the internet had been around to the extent it was around when the prequels came out, you’d have seen exactly the same stuff play out.”
Herring further added, “I think in 10 years’ time, you’re going to see what you’re seeing with the sequels, because the sequels have a huge fan base, and I meet them all the time, but they’re all much younger than the people complaining on the internet about how much they didn’t like. It’s perfectly fine. If you don’t like them, you don’t like them. Everything’s not for everyone. And I just think that these things are all generational, and I think Battlestar Galactica said it best, ‘this has all happened before, it will all happen again.'”
At the time of writing, Star Wars has not released any big-screen project that builds upon Rey’s (Daisy Ridley) story after the events of The Rise of Skywalker.
