2026 Oscars’ Biggest Movie Snub Sets Hulu Release Date

One of this year’s biggest Oscar Awards snubs is making its streaming debut soon on Hulu. Searchlight Pictures has finally announced the Hulu release date for The Testament of Ann Lee, the acclaimed musical drama starring Amanda Seyfried. It currently holds a Certified Fresh rating of 86% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 205 reviews.

“In the film, Seyfried stars as the Shakers’ irrepressible leader, who espoused gender and social equality while believing herself to be the female incarnation of Christ. The Testament of Ann Lee thrillingly imagines the ecstasy and agony of Ann Lee and her followers’ conviction and commitment to her own vision of utopia,” reads the official synopsis.

When is the Hulu release date for The Testament of Ann Lee?

The Testament of Ann Lee is now slated to start streaming on March 31, exclusively on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ (for bundle subscribers in the U.S). For her leading performance, Seyfried received Best Actress nominations at the 2026 Golden Globe Awards and Critics’ Choice Awards. Because of this, many were surprised when the movie and Seyfried didn’t get any nominations at the recent Oscars despite receiving buzz during the awards season.
