The video introduces Chinese actor Xie Miao (My Father Is a Hero) as a single father, whose daughter gets kidnapped by human traffickers. With the help of Joe Taslim‘s Navin, they will seek their revenge against the people responsible for the disappearance of their respective loved ones. The trailer highlights the movie’s violent and suspense-filled fight sequences, featuring Xie Miao and Joe Taslim’s characters as they fight their way through an army of criminals. It teases Taslim’s reunion with his The Raid: Redemption co-star Yayan Ruhian, promising fans another epic martial arts showdown.

The Furious is directed by Japanese filmmaker Kenji Tanigaki, who’s best known for his work as on movies like Fist of Fury, Rurouni Kenshin, Hidden Man, and Enter the Fat Dragon. The screenplay was written by Mak Tin Shu, Lei Zhilong, Shum Kwan Sin, and Frank Hui, based on the character created by David Morrell. The ensemble cast also includes Yang Enyou, Brian Le, and Joey Iwanaga. It is produced by Bill Kong, Shan Tam, and Frank Hui.

The English-language Hong Kong film had its world premiere last year at the Toronto International Film Festival. Since then, it has already garnered positive reviews from critics, like Cinema From the Spectrum, JoBlo, and Cinema Escapist, who have likened the movie’s vibe and fast-paced action style to Keanu Reeves’s John Wick and Gareth Evans’ 2011 film The Raid: Redemption. It currently holds a 100% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 19 reviews.
