New Jennifer’s Body 2 Update Is Good News for Megan Fox Fans

A new update on Jennifer’s Body 2 is offering encouraging signs for fans of Megan Fox. A recent report suggests that the long-awaited sequel is finally gaining traction, sparking significant anticipation among fans.

According to Dread Central, Diablo Cody has revealed that a sequel to Jennifer’s Body is actively in the works, confirming during a recent panel in Los Angeles that she is currently writing the screenplay. The announcement came at the Storytelling 360: State of the Story event, where Cody appeared alongside a group of writers, with the session moderated by Joe Russo. 

The update adds to a growing list of hints that a follow-up was being considered. Director Karyn Kusama had previously noted that Cody was working on the project. In a 2025 interview with Deadline, she said, “I know [Diablo Cody’s] working on [Jennifer’s Body 2] right now, and I’m very excited to hear what comes of it.” However, the director did not provide any specific details, adding, “I know some of the bones of it, so I’m not going to give anything away, but it sounds fun and crazy like the first film.” 

The potential return of the original cast has also been addressed. In a previous interview with Variety, Amanda Seyfried also expressed interest in reprising her role. “We’re making another,” she said. However, the actress also added that her involvement depends on Fox’s participation. Seyfried noted, “I’m not doing it without [Megan Fox].”

Released in 2009, Jennifer’s Body initially received a mixed critical response but has since developed a strong cult following. The film centers on a high school cheerleader who becomes possessed by a demon. She develops a craving for human flesh, leading her to prey on male classmates. As the killings escalate, her best friend is forced to confront her to stop the violence.
