Latest Entry in Jamie Lee Curtis’ Hit Slasher Franchise To Stream on Netflix
The latest sequel in an iconic slasher franchise starring Jamie Lee Curtis will be added to Netflix’s content library next month. The film served as the final part of the modern trilogy and wraps up the story on a high note.
Halloween Ends streams on Netflix in April
Halloween Ends will arrive on Netflix in April 2026. While it is confirmed to stream on the platform, a streaming release date has not yet been made public.
It is the final chapter of Blumhouse Productions’ modern Halloween trilogy, which follows Laurie Strode’s conflict with Michael Myers. The story takes place four years after the events of Halloween Kills (2021). Michael Myers has disappeared, but the town of Haddonfield is still traumatized. Meanwhile, Laurie’s granddaughter Allyson falls in love with Corey, a man whom the town alienated after he accidentally killed a young boy he was babysitting. But after encountering Michael Myers in the sewers, Corey undergoes a disturbing transformation.
David Gordon Green, who helmed the first two films in the trilogy, directed Halloween Ends. He co-wrote the trilogy with Danny McBride, while Paul Brad Logan and Chris Bernier joined for the final film. The cast features Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie, Andi Matichak as Allyson, Rohan Campbell as Corey, Will Patton as Deputy Frank, and Kyle Richards as Lindsey, among others.
Reportedly, Green and McBride pitched a Halloween duology and wanted to shoot them back-to-back (via Entertainment Weekly). However, they decided to wait to see how the reception would be on Halloween (2018) before making another. After that film became a commercial hit, earning $259.9 million, the two began work on Halloween Kills. But while working on the second film, the duo eventually decided to make it a trilogy instead.
Halloween Ends premiered at the 2022 Beyond Fest in Los Angeles on October 11. It arrived in theaters on October 14, 2022. Despite being the least successful of the trilogy, the film was still profitable. It earned $104.3 million globally, against a reported budget of $40 million. Additionally, it currently stands at an average 40% approval rating from 267 critics on Rotten Tomatoes.
