Anna Kendrick’s 81% RT Comedy & Sequel Are Leaving Netflix Soon

Anna Kendrick’s popular comedy, Pitch Perfect, and its sequel, Pitch Perfect 2, will be leaving Netflix soon. The films were directed by Jason Moore and Elizabeth Banks, respectively. The first movie came out in September 2012, and the sequel was released in theaters in May 2015.

Pitch Perfect and Pitch Perfect 2 are leaving Netflix next month

The musical comedy and its sequel, featuring Anna Kendrick, are leaving the streaming giant’s content catalog next month.

According to a report by What’s on Netflix, Pitch Perfect and Pitch Perfect 2, will be exiting the streaming giant’s content catalog on April 1, 2026.

Both movies feature a multitude of stars, including talents like Rebel Wilson, Skylar Astin, Anna Camp, Adam DeVine, Hailee Steinfeld, Brittany Snow, Alexis Knapp, and many more.

Pitch Perfect follows a college freshman called Beca, who joins an all-girls acapella group named Barden Bellas and takes them to new heights. However, soon they find themselves pitted against a rival all-boys group called the Barden Treblemakers.

The sequel sees the return of Beca and the Bellas, who must now win the world championship to restore their reputation after a disastrous performance.

Pitch Perfect, which was reported to have a budget of $17 million, went on to become a hit, opening with $5 million. At the domestic box office, the movie went on to make around $65 million. On the other hand, at the international box office, it went on to collect $50 million. Thus, its global earnings stand at $115 million (via Box Office Mojo).

Meanwhile, Pitch Perfect 2 had a reported budget of $29 million. It went on to become a bigger hit at the box office than its predecessor. The sequel also opened with $69 million and went on to make around $184 million in the domestic market. On the international market, the movie grossed $102 million, bringing its total to $287 million.

On Rotten Tomatoes, Pitch Perfect got a score of 81 percent on the Tomatometer and 83 percent on the Popcornmeter. However, Pitch Perfect 2 earned a lower score, 66 percent, in comparison to the first movie. On Popcornmeter, the sequel got a score of 64 percent based on audience reviews.
