Jason Momoa, Gal Gadot, Al Pacino, & Gerard Butler Star in New Netflix Movie
Netflix has acquired the rights to an upcoming drama that features a massive, star-studded cast.
What do we know about Netflix’s new star-studded movie?
The upcoming movie, In the Hand of Dante, comes from director Julian Schnabel, and was written by Schnabel and Louise Kugelberg. No official release information has been made as of yet, but the film promises to be a big one, especially due to who is set to be involved.
The film features an absolutely stacked cast, including Oscar Isaac, Gal Gadot, Gerard Butler, John Malkovich, Louis Cancelmi, Sabrina Impacciatore, Franco Nero, Benjamin Clementine, Paolo Bonacelli, Martin Scorsese, Al Pacino and Jason Momoa. It had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival last year, where Schnabel was also awarded the Cartier Glory to the Filmmaker Award for his contribution to the arts.
In the Hand of Dante is an adaptation of the 2002 novel by Nick Tosches. The movie features Isaac playing two dual roles, one of which is author Tosches in the 21st century, and then Dante Alighieri in the 14th century. “A New York author in the 21st century and Dante Alighieri himself in the 14th century are unknowingly connected both through time and their obsessive quest for love, beauty, and the divine,” reads the logline provided by Netflix.
Schnabel is best known for his movies The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, as well as Before Night Falls, the latter of which was a breakout movie for Javier Bardem.
