Scorpion’s Suit Revealed in Spider-Man: Brand New Day Trailer Clip

A new clip from the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer has been released, offering a brief glimpse at the much-awaited confrontation between Tom Holland‘s webslinger and Michael Mando’s Scorpion. Their inevitable conflict was previously teased in the mid-credits scene of 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Scorpion vs. Spider-Man teased in Brand New Day snippet

A new snippet from the Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer just dropped. It shows Scorpion hitting Spider-Man with his mechanical tail as the latter swings near him. Notably, their fight takes place at night.

Scorpion’s alter-ego, Mac Gargan, first debuted in Spider-Man: Homecoming. A criminal associate of Adrian Toomes (Vulture) and prospective buyer of the latter’s alien weaponry, he is spotted by Spider-Man while trying to purchase weapons from a member of Toomes’ criminal empire, Herman Schultz (Shocker), on the Staten Island Ferry. Gargan is knocked out of the ferry after Spider-Man interferes while fighting Vulture. However, he is retrieved by the FBI and arrested.

Gargan later meets Toomes after the latter is imprisoned following his final confrontation with Spider-Man. Seeking revenge on the webslinger, the former asks Toomes if he knows the hero’s secret identity, saying he heard rumors about it and that he had “friends on the outside” who also wanted revenge. However, Toomes, who uncovered his identity but likely chose to protect Peter Parker, tells Gargan that if he knew who Spider-Man was, he would be dead.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is a part of the MCU’s Phase Six, premieres in theaters on July 31. Set four years after No Way Home, the film sees the titular hero investigate a series of crimes. This puts him on a path where he must face the consequences of his past actions.

Destin Daniel Cretton helmed the movie. Besides Tom Holland and Michael Mando, the film features Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, and Marvin Jones III.
