The Mandalorian & Grogu Movie Runtime Possibly Revealed

Anticipation continues to build for The Mandalorian and Grogu, the upcoming big-screen continuation of the story that began in the Disney+ series The Mandalorian. A new update has now offered a possible early look at the film’s runtime ahead of its theatrical release. However, the figure has not yet been officially confirmed by the studio.

A new listing from a theater chain has offered a potential update about the length of the upcoming The Mandalorian and Grogu. According to the website of U.K. cinema chain Odeon Cinemas, the film currently has a runtime of 2 hours and 20 minutes, giving audiences an early sense of how long the next installment in the Star Wars franchise could be when it arrives in theaters.

Though the runtime has not yet been officially confirmed by Lucasfilm or Disney, the reported length falls within the typical range for recent live-action Star Wars movies. Many films released during the Disney era have run between roughly 135 and 140 minutes. One of the few exceptions is Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which had a longer runtime of 2 hours and 32 minutes. 

If the reported length proves accurate, the film would offer an experience roughly equal to several episodes of the television series The Mandalorian. Episodes of the show have varied significantly in duration, ranging from under 30 minutes to around 45 minutes. This places the movie’s reported runtime close to the length of four or five back-to-back episodes.

The film marks the return of Din Djarin and Grogu to the big screen after the success of the streaming series. Directed by Jon Favreau, the cast includes Pedro Pascal, who reprises his role as the Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin. He is joined by Sigourney Weaver and Jeremy Allen White.

The Mandalorian and Grogu is scheduled to arrive in theaters on May 22, 2026
